I am not from Oz but from other shots I have noticed that it is short for: Grocery Bar. I note that the Aussies sure do like to abbreviate things, some examples: uni=university, brekkie=breakfast, Aussie=Australian, oldies=parents, rellies=family relative, bikkie=biscuit, greenies=environmentalist and on and on if you would like a more comprehensive listing go to: CairnsWeb.com.au for the lingo :)
